Robert and Mahala Miller were married ca 1846, probably in Breathitt Co, Kentucky. Robert is on the tax lists for that county from 1845 through 1848. According to the death certificate for their youngest daughter, Catherine Loucinda Miller Pinley, Mahala's maiden name was Stenson.

I have looked for a Stenson/Stinson family in the Breathitt Co, Kentucky area without any luck.

Robert and Mahala moved to Missouri by 1850 where they can be found on the Crawford Co, MO census. I have found them on all census through 1880 where they were living in Marion Co, AR. Also, I recently located their graves in the Gassville Cemetery in Baxter Co, AR.

Was Mahala's maiden name Stenson or Stinson? Or was it something else entirely? I'm stumped on this.
