FYI
just came back from Minnesota looking for family, including POLZIN's. But when I was there the family name was pronounced was pol-sine, instead of what I would have assumed it would have been - based on spelling: pole-sin
Strange I thought. Then I was literally driving around, and saw a church and cemetary....St Martin's Lutheran of, I think, New Auburn....but since I had no idea where I was I can't be sure. But in that cemetary they have POLZIN's and POLZIEN's.
If the family name was really POLZIEN and was changed at some point to POLZIN - while maintaining the pronounciation....it would all make sense.
I will post the info I found in the future after I have a chance to get it together
