Could you please help me understand what the "Georgia, Property Tax Digests, 1793-1893" are? I see my GGGgrandfather Barney Bradly listed in "Militia District of Bartow", 85th District" but I can't figure out how to find the year that this list was made???

I can't find Barney anywhere else in the USA, but find his family in Bartow on the 1880 census!
