My grandfathers brother Jacob (Jack) Kuhnle is thought to have been lost during the San Francisco earthquake 1906.
Jacob was born in London 1893, at the time of the quake he would have only been 13. We are unsure if he went with other relatives to the U.S but there is no evidence to support this, or if he was working on a ship, quite likely as he lived close to the London dock areas and plenty of ships left from there. Somebody thought that he went to Australia but another member of the family said that extensive enquiries were made after the quake but to no avail. He was never heard of again.
