I am looking for information on the surname Bersee.
Specifically I am looking for Ellen Jane Bersee born about 1825 possibly France.
She married Wheeler Branch Southwick in Nov 1850 Collins(Brant)Erie, NY. I find
Wheeler Branch Southwick in the 1850 Census taken July 1850 but there is no sign of Ellen Jane Bersee.
Sophia Elizabeth Southwick (daughter by first marriage)is also in the 1850 census as a 3 year old. When grown she married Wm. Hiram Slocum.
After Wheeler Branch Southwick died in the Civil War, Ellen Jane Bersee Southwick married Charles Smith, time and place unknown, however they are both buried in Mildred,Allen, KS.
A Louise Graves Bersee listed as being from Millington,Tuscola, MI attended the 50th anniversary of Springville, NY Academy in Sep 1880.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has the surname
Bersee in their lineage or database.
