I am researching the Pointon family from Congleton Cheshire. I was asked by my cousin to look into her relatives. Her grandmother Violet Bartlam b1898 married a George Henry Pointon b1898.
The only info my cousin got from her family members was that her grandmother Violet was adopted out and living with the cartlidge family in congleton cheshire.
In the 1901 She is listed as violet payne and in 1911 she is listed as violet bartlam. On her marriage to George Henry Pointon, Frederick bartlam is listed as her father on a marriage record.
My cousins mother was Violet Pointon M Harold Lynch but her and her siblings mother is listed as Barklam.

Would anyone be able to help me figure this out? My cousin doesnt know much her side of the family and as they are my family also any help would be greatly appreciated.
Why does violets name change? Who are her birth parents? Who is Fred Carpenter who is also living with the Cartlidge family?
