I am trying to trace my maternal grandfather but the information I have is quite limited.

My great grandparents Solomon and Hannah (or Sarah) Segal, originally came from Rumania. They had four children, all in Zfat/Safed.

There were three sons and a daughter.
Eleazer (known as Leon) was my mother's father and was born approx 1890. His brothers were Morris and Judah ...... Judah died at an early age. Their sister was Chaya.

I'm unsure when Solomon died. Hannah (or Sarah) came to Perth, Western Australia with Eleazer and Chayer. Apparently Morris was put in an orphanage in Zfat for a couple of years before joining them in 19??.

Eleazer married Rachel Zelicovitch in Peth on March 25, 1916. They had four children, one of them my mother Rose (Rosie).

Eleazer (Leon) died in 1929, Rachel in 1980.

Any assistance would be wonderful. I don't know if Segal is a common name in Safed!
