I am looking for any further information that can be found pertaining to my 2nd great-grandfather, John Murtaugh and his parents. I've found some information on him--for example, I know that his wife was Clara York, and I know who their children were. I also found John's death certificate online, which says he was born 15 Oct 1865 in Stockport, England, and that he died 10 Sept 1922 in Cleveland Ward 9, Cuyahoga, Ohio.

His death certificate indicates that his father's name was also John Murtaugh, and that his mother's maiden name was Mary Reynold. I haven't been able to find any definite records for his parents, possibly because the names are both relatively common. The only thing I've found that lists both names is his death certificate, and it makes me wonder if perhaps the names are incorrectly listed...

Some records for John say that he was born in Stockport, as indicated on his death certificate, but there are several census records that indicate that he was born in Ireland. I could use any help I can get, does anyone have any suggestions for me? This is a frustrating dead end that would be very exciting to solve. Thank you!
