Hello all, does anyone out there have the surname of JOY in their family? They say that the more uncommon the name, the easier to find info on. If that is the case, I have decided that JOY has become extinct. Am seeking parents or siblings of John Wardner JOY. He was b. 1808, supposedly in the Devon area. Married Mary MACEY of Wiltshire, emigrated with MACEY family in 1840>42 to the USA,(don't know what ship or where embarked from) also emigrating were two PENNY men, Daniel and James who were married to Marys sisters, Ann & Jane. Mary's mother was Elizabeth Couts, of Winterbourn Stoke, Wiltshire. Wardner is supposed to be a family name,as is Gray when they are used as given names. I would be Soooo grateful for ANY small crumb that would get me started again. Thanking you in advance.
