Hi all,

something strange is happening...

The parents of my 12th great-grandmother are called "13th great grandfather" and "1st cousin 12x removed". Her mom is not recognized as my 13th great grandmother.
Further, her parents are not - as they should be - my 14th great grandparents, but my 12th great uncle and his wife...
This is the case with several people in my tree. I have checked all parent/child relationships, and they are all correct.

Why doesn't FTM recognize the direct lineage?

Ok, I do agree that it is a weird situation. The sister of my 14th greatgrandfather (called 12th great granduncle) is also my 11th great grandmother (hence the uncle).
This means that his parents are at the same time my 12th and 15th great grandparents. this is probably why FTM can't agree with itself. But it should at least call his wife my great grandmother and not my great aunt, no?

Another small problem: according to FTM, I have 9 900 people in my family tree.
When I export a gedcom and import it into another site (to do some extra matching), the gedcom seems to have almost 12 000 people in it... Who are those 2 000 extra people? :)

Thanks for any tips you could give me!

Regards,
Tom
