Years ago when I first start computerizing my records in Personal Ancestral File, I religiously followed the age-old practice of placing periods with initials; used since the beginning of time in written texts anywhere and everywhere.
Since the advent of computerized databases, many names use initials without the period. This throws off the alphabetizing of names in the index and finding names of people or places with filters.
In the interest of standardizing my names I am converting all of my initials to omit that pesky period.
How are you handling periods in initials?
