Surnames: Hart, Linn, Shaw, Line, Herriott,Campbell, Frey
So, I have 4 adoptees in my family, all clustered.

1) My Great-Grandmother, Mabel Linn Shaw-Line
2) Mabel's potential father, Frank Ross Shaw
3) Mabel's potential mother, Kittie Hart Linn
4) Harry Hart Line, the nephew of Alinda E Frey and William Miller Shaw, listed below, and Mabel Linn Shaw-Line's adopted father.

Frank Ross Shaw was adopted by William Miller Shaw and his wife, Alinda E Frey. William and his first wife Harriet Frey had 1 child, Marian Linn Shaw, deceased. I have a letter from Marian stating that she was an only child. It disregards any idea that Frank would have been her sibling, by blood or otherwise.

Kittie Hart Linn was adopted by Nathan Sanborn Linn and his wife, Rachel Herriott.

Harry Hart Line was adopted by Smith Vail Line and his wife, Louisa R. Frey, sister to Alinda E. Frey, mentioned above.

Mabel Linn Shaw-Line was taken in by Harry Hart Line and his wife, Nellie Coleman Campbell. Mabel had a sister as well, named Bessie Alinda, who was taken in as well.

Mabel Linn Shaw-Line is my great-grandmother. Her son was my grandfather, Louis Linn Reininger, he has passed, as well as all his siblings.

I believe, that Harry Hart Line and Kittie Hart Linn are brother and sister. When Harry was adopted, his name was changed from Henry, because the family already had a Henry. I have found a census record which leads me to believe that the parents of Harry and Kittie were Philip Hart and Margaret LNU, in New York. There may have been a 3rd child as well, Philip, whom I have not been able to trace.

I have had my brother take a DNA test through FTDNA, and I have taken one of my own through Ancestry. How with these results or anyone else's would we be able to prove that Harry and Kitte were in fact brother and sister?

Any help in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks!
