I am trying to trace ancestors of my mother--Edit Ilona Hrabovszky Hall--born 13 April 1925 in Hungary--I believe in Bekescsaba. Her father was Mihaly Hrabovszky born around 1895-1900 in Hungary and died about 1944. Her mother was Judit Ilona Czibulski Hrabovszky born around 1900 in Hungary (?) and died 31 December 1979 in Budapest, Hungary. I believe that the family had homes in both Bekescsaba and Budapest (I think Pest). Mihaly was an officer in the Hungarian army during WWI, was an artist, teacher, and philanthropist. I believe he had many brothers and one sister (Mariska) and was either the youngest or second to the youngest child in that family. Judit had at least one sister who did not marry. The Hrabovszky family and/or the Czbulski family owned vineyards in what was formerly Czechoslovakia. The Hrabovszky (and/or Czibula) family was strongly Lutheran and was instrumental in developing/expanding the Lutheran religion in Hungary. I have heard of a Hrabovszky connection to a Spanish 'blue-blood' family. This would likely have been Mihaly Hrabovszky's mother or grandmother. I would really appreciate any information on the Hrabovszkys--especially from descendants of the brothers and sister(s) of Mihaly who know more of the family tree.
