Scott, what I have found is that the probate records were the ones that were copied. They run from about 1704-1723 and abstracts can be found in old copies of the RI Genealogical
Register. The wills themselves are in the Sk Town
Council and Probate
Books.
Anyone with an ancestor who lived in what later became SK in the period from 1704-1723 is very fortunate because many of the originals in NK suffered severe damage in a fire. I was able to transcribe an ancestor's will that was in near perfect condition from 1704 in SK but the original in NK is very tough to read. I also have to tell you that the clerks in SK are much more helpful and knowledgeable than the ones in NK should you want to go in person.
Vital records were not copied, nor have I seen copies of land records from that period, only the wills. it may be that I have not had to find a land record in that period but I have not seen any abstarcts from that period.
I usually use my other email addy, which is
uriramfan@cox.net as opposed to this one if you want to contact me off line. I do not come to the message boards very often.
