Hello,
I have a Michael
Mungovan born 4 Feb 1840 in County Claire, Ireland. He left Ireland as a young man, late teens or early 20s for Australia, I am not sure where in Australia. This Michael arrived in the US in 1870 (this arrival year is documented) and eventually married and raised a family there. This Michael was a tall man, with red hair, blue eyes and did not read or write.
This is probably not your Michael, and if the sons George and Michael are younger than son James, who was born about
1870, the year my Michael arrived in the US, then I would feel comfortable saying definitely different people; however these would be two men with the same name, of the same approximate age, in the same country at about the same time, so you might find the information on "my" Michael useful to differentiate the two in any records you may find.
I have given you all the information I have about "my" Michael prior to his arrival in the US. If you find anything about him in your research I would appreciate it if you passed it on to me and I will certainly do the same with your Michael.
