I am seeking any information about the families of these two men who moved around together in the first half of the 1800s:
Ambrose Armstrong
Thomas Armstrong

From Census records:
1800 Minisink, Orange Co. NY
1810 Spencer, Tioga Co.
1820 Cayuta, Tioga Co. (now Schuyler Co.)
1830 and 1840 Erin, Tioga Co. (now Chemung Co.)

I suspect that Ambrose may be the father of Sophia b. 1800 and Diantha b. 1815. Sophia is my ancestor. I suspect he may also be the father of Ambrose Armstrong, b. 1814, who served in the Civil War.

I don't know your ARMSTRONG crew, but. You might find interesting info at the cemeteries these 2 links will take you to. BTW, today even the schools for Van Etten and Spencer seem to be linked or one and the same, so close. My surnames pretty much took the same routes and stopoffs as yours, same time frame.

I am interested in these Armstrongs as it might be that my ancestor Joseph Stubbs married a Rebecca Armstrong and probably in Spencer, Tioga, New York. This would have been c1812. Rebecca was born c 1794. Joseph and Rebecca moved to Springfield Twp., Williams Co.,OH. Do you have any knowledge of the children of Thomas or Ambrose Armstrong
