My great grandmother, in a Declaration for Widow's Pension for a pension from her 3rd husband- stated that "she was first married to Judson M. Clark on Oct 5, 1864 and that Clark while prospecting in the Black Hills, Wyoming, was killed by Indians in August 1869, near Pole Creek".
Does anyone know where Pole Creek is (was)? And where could I get pictures of the area?
Judson Clark was my great- grandfather.

Hi,

Pole Creek is about 40 miles East of Big Laramie.

Its mentioned in the Diaries of the William Hyde Wagon Train that camped there in 1864.

You coud also ask the US Bureau of Land Management. They have offices all over Wyoming and I have always found them most helpful.
