Wow!! Thank you. And how very thoughtful of you to find it for me. This is them and so important to me since I believe Frank OWEN is my grandfather. My father, Richard MILLER was born in 1916 in High River AB. His birth cert. reads "father unknown" but I found this old letter. Now is there any way of finding the Frank OWEN/Laura (MILLER or FULLER) marriage? That is, without having to send in $50 for a search since the marriage vital stats isn't available online yet? By the way, this OWEN family is written up in a book out of North Battleford called "Eagle Hills Re-Echoing Times"

I didn't know Frank's real name was George Francis. Did you know that he served in WW2 under the name Frank and gave his birthplace as Brookins N.D.? If not, search the Canadian Expeditionary Force at www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/cef/index-e.html
I believe the Laura he was married to at the time of enlistment was my grandmother--my dad's real father.

Am wondering if anyone looked into the fact that George Francis Owen (also known as Frank Owen) is the same person as the Frank Owen whose WW1 attestation papers regimental number 1018316 indicate he was born 10 April 1893 in Brookins North Dakota and gives his wife in May 1916 as Laura Owen. I have reason to believe this Laura Owen was my grandmother.
Any comments please?

My mother is the daughter of Grace(sister of George Francis), still alive and very bright. She remembers Frank going to war but says there was no knowledge in the family of his being married. He lived with my mom's family for awhile when he came back.
