Ulric ARCHAMBAULT m. Evangeline ? ~ from Quebec

I am the Great Granddaughter of Ulric and Evangeline. My grandfather was George Alphonse Rodrigue Archambault born on August 12, 1902 in Boston, MA. Ulric and Evangeline came from Quebec, CN. Siblings of my grandfather are Henrietta, Frank, Telesphore and I believe Josephine ??? (guessing at this one). Archambault is listed on birth certificates and SS# cards. My siblings and I did not find out about the last name Archambault until a few years ago. Our name is listed as Carriere on our birth certificates.

Would like to find family descendents to add to our tree and shed some light on our family lineage.

Thanks!

1920 US Census - Ulric & Evangeline Archambault and 8 children

I have checked the 1920 US Census and found Ulric and Evangeline listed along with their (8) children. The Census was hard to read and a couple of names were not clear enough to read. Names listed as follows:

Emilene (spelling???, Daughter)
Henrietta(Daughter)
Telesphore(Son)
George(my grandfather)
Lucianne(Daughter)
Raymonde(Daughter)
Fernande(Daughter)
U.....(Son, could not make out the name, it appears to begin with a U).

Any connections to these names would be greatly appreciated. I do know that Henrietta married a man with the last name Murphy(Jeremiah possibly???) I have a wedding picture of her and her new husband, Ulric Archambault, Evangeline Archambault and one of her sisters.

Thanks!

Thank you for replying. I have received some more input on my Great Grandparents. I am not sure where in Quebec. Ulric O. Archambault was born in 1872 and died in 1947. Evangeline was born in 1877 and died in 1962. Their daughter, Henrietta I(Archambault)Murphy died January 27th, 1989 in Somerville, MA. She is the sister of Fernande who lived in Cambridge and Raymonde Quinn of Quincy,MA. Telesphore (a brother)Archambault was born in 1905, he has died but I do not have the date. There is mention of a Helene L. Hayes (known as Lucy Archambault)who died, I believe in 1971, I do not know what relation she is. Another daughter, Emilienne J. (Archambault) Yurt died May 31, 1957 two months after my grandfather, George A. Archambault died.

Anything you can find will be appreciated. Thanks again!

Laureen

Okay after some digging i found the following

Ulric Archambault married Evangelina Vegiard
in (still looking)

Emilienne Archambault born august 09 1899
married February 23 Boston, Usa

Xaver Jurt from Basel???
born February 15 1895

so the Emilienne exist and Jurt not Yurt

Your grandfather must be there somewhere

I'm a 3rd cousin
Ulrich and Evangeline (Vi(s)giard)- Memere and Papere are your great granparents
Your grandfather Gerge was my Uncle - his wife was Sadie
Are you Buddy or Arthur's Daughter They are Sadie's sons hence the Surname Carriere.
I hope this doesn't stop the tree for you but that is the best of my recollection and it could be wrong because they spoke french around ue when they didn't want us to know anything.
If it keeps going then George had siblings-
Francis, (Nee Ubald, My father) and Telesphore; Henriette( Jerry Murphy), Francoise(Murphy), Emilienne(Xavier Yurt) Lucy(Hayes) and Raymonde(Pat Quinn)and a boatload of nephews and nieces.
There's a society called Les Archambaults D'Amrique that has a genealogic section but they don't have any of the info I just sent you (I have 7 brothers and 2 sister so you see the list can go on and on. All the above are passed away. I'm not sure of Raymonde but she probably has as well.

Hello Laureen,

I'm a cousin of Xavier Jurt. His son Xavier Yurt (changed from Jurt to Yurt after he arrived in the US from Switzerland) married Emeline Archambault who was from Canada. All the dates and locations posted in the replies to you match the data I have for the Jurt/Yurt branch of my family. If you are interested in more info about them please post a reply. I am in contact with one of Xavier's sons and could also contact him about you.

Hi Laureen,

I just posted a reply about Xavier Jurt/Yurt and Emiliene Archambault but erroneously posted it beneath Gerard Archambault's reply to you. You can view it on the message board.

Thanks

Hello Carol,

Thank you for responding. It is exciting when I get replys and can fill in somemore blanks. Yes, I would like to connect with any family links to the Archambaults. My plan is to eventually, when I retire, put together something for my children so they can pass it down the line.

I have a newspaper copy of Emilenes obituary as well as some other members of the Archambault family. My grandmother Sarah Carriere was somewhat of a recluse in her later years and read newspapers and clipped family related stuff and tucked them away.

Thanks again!
