My great-grandfather was Paul Powder, married to Christine Bews (Buze). they had 12 children, Felix, Francis, Fred, Samuel, Gabriel, twins- Robert and Katherine (Cardinal), Johnny, Henry, Zachary, MaryJane, I can't remember one other name at the moment. These names are not placed in the order they were born. My grandfather was Robert Powder married to Vitaline (Cardinal). My mother's name is Georgina Mercredi (Powder) and lives in Fort Smith N.T. I may have information or have relatives who know more about the Powder family, so e-mail me if you think you may be related.

The Master Surname Index (not online) (mostly burials in Alberta cemeteries) of the Alberta Genealogical Society lists 80 Powder names. Most are in the Ft McMurray, Ft Chipewyan, Wabaskaw, Slave Lake, Yellowknife areas.
