I am searching for any information regarding the Torna family of Caibarien, Cuba. So far, Tornes is the closest thing I have come across. Have you heard of the Torna family, and if so do you have any information? All I know is that the Torna's decended from an English slave trader by the name of John Turner. He was being hunted and was to be hanged so he escaped to Cuba and changed his name to Juan Torna.Any information that you have will be appreciated.

I am searching for my ancestors with the Burton Surname. My ancestor Gerge Burton came from Dominica. He was born Sep 1 1850. I don't know anything other than this.

I am trying to find information for my husband, German Torna Rodriguez. His family is from Caibarien, Cuba. Father, Edubidico Torna and mother, Amparo Torna Rodriguez. My husbands grandparents died young and he never knew them. His mother was orphaned at a young age, so she does not know too much about her family. His father’s earliest recollection of his descendents is of a great-great-great-great grandfather by the name of John Turner, who was originally from England. He was a slave trader who had to escape England in fear of being hanged. He fled to Cuba where he changed his name to Juan Torna. That is about all the information I have. I would love to hear if you have found out any new information.

My grandfather is from Caibarien (Froilan Lopez Herrera) and also descendant of Torna by his fathers side (Jose Anselmo Lopez Torna) and was wondering if you had come across any recent information for this last name. I have come across the same info you had listed here but was wondering if you had anything else such as dates , etc. We are probably related but my grandfather is 85 yrs old and doesn't remember many names or dates. I found a place in caibarien called "El canal del ingles" wass called after Juan Torna back in the 1800's. they found one of his vesels in the canal and i have coctact whith the older Torna family in Caibarien. please contact me at facebook.
