Does anyone know about Augusta, Ok. It was 2 miles West of Carmen, near where the old (removed long ago) railroad track was. It had come and gone before my time. Grandpa, Sylvester "Frank" Terrel, owned the land west of the old railroad, North of Hwy 45. Every time they plowed, they dug up old chunks of cement.

Did Augusta blow away in a storm, or just dwindle away when the railroad moved east to Carmen?

If you go to this site there is a story about Augusta and Carmen.
Augusta did move and the name was changed to Carmen because it was on the railroad.
