Charles in your Asher line have you come across a Nathaniel Calvin Williams (1811-1865) Crawford Co., PA to (1833) Chatauqua Co., NY to (1840) Warren Co., PA to (1846)Schuyler Co., MO.

He married Lucy Wheeler daughter of Daniel Wheeler and Mary Hosmer Forbush in 1833 in Chautauqua Co., NY.

Thanks,

Arlean Childs, Sorry I do not have any record of a David and Sphia Childs Williams in my three data bases. As there were two Williams clans in Crawford Co. sorting them out becomes very difficult. Suggest you contact Clarence Burkey - clb@atlantic.net. He has a data base of the other Williams clan beginning with a Robert Williams. m My ancestor was Asher Sr. To date we have not been able to connect the two families. Robert's descendants have their own cemetery in Crawfrod Co. Mine are scattered among all the other various cemeteries there.

I'm descended through William Williams youngest son Frederick Chadding. I was never sure on Williams' parentage. Someone had told me that Asher Jr. was his father, but they had no sort of evidence to prove it. Are you fairly certain of this tie? (Ihope so, it would make my work easier!) Please contact me at: Melanie Haggard, 802 Perry Hwy., Mercer, PA 16137. I can also send you photos of the Williams graves incase you aren't close to Mercer & crawford county. Thanks for your time.

I have found two marriage license and the will for John Williams(1705-between 25 Feb 1769 and 19 Apr 1776) the father of Asher Williams Sr. I bought the two marriage license from the New Jersey State Archive Searchable database (www.nj.gov/state/darm/databases.html). John first married Rebecca Christopher on 22d of Oct 1734 in Burlington Co., New Jersey. John second marriage is to Hannah Scott. They were married 18 Jul 1751 in Shrewsbury, Monmouth Co., New Jersey. This makes Rebecca Christopher the mother of Asher Williams Sr and his brothers James Williams, Daniel Williams and Matthew Williams as they were all born in the 1740s before John married Hannah Scott.
