grandfather is Ferge Tynes he had 6 siblings
and 5 half siblings.his father name was AJ Tynes and his 1 wife named Emma Gardner.they lived in Rocky Gap,Va. im looking for relatives that could piece in the gap that his people came from the Tynes Plantation.

Yes, I am almost sure that we are related. I recently found out the link between the Timothy Tynes in Isles of Wight Virgina and my family in Nova Scotia Canada.


One of the slaves from Timothy Tynes plantation that was freed in 1780 and moved to New York migrated to Canada in 1783 with her one month old child to Halifax, Nova Scotia. This was the birth place of my grandfather George Edward Tynes. I don't know when he came to the U.S., however, I believe it may have been in the late 1800's.

My sister found that there is documentation of Becky Tynes who was a slave from the Timothy Tynes Plantation. I am researching to write a book about my father's family in Canada and the U.S. Please keep in touch.
