Seeking information on descendants of my family, Peter Frederich GUTWIN and Paulina MARTIN,

Peter was interned by the Russian Authorities 1938 and sent to Siberia. He later re-married and had a daughter.
Anyone with information please contact me.

Hi Karin, I was speaking with Andreas last night who, by the way is 72 years old - (just to link up generations). He was very pleased to hear from you. He wondered what your great-grandparents names were. He also told me Anna was the name of his father's only sister. Andreas' grandfather's name was Frederick.
Should you wish to discuss further family matters he would be more than happy to ring you (he does speak German). You could advise me of your telephone number should you wish and I can pass that on to Andreas. Look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Alison

hi,alison,i do not know, where to start answering-fierst of all,i do not know the names of my great grandparents-my mother and grandmother, like so many poeple with that trauma, never spoke about this period in their lives-they all passed away a long time ago-now my brother and me are trieing to put the puzzle together-have you ever checked odessa3.org-in the past years these poeple indexed a lot of documents out of that time-in their war documents are at least 30-40 gutwins-all out of that area-we just cannot link the names with the genarations and the families yet-but they all seem related-but i also can try to send you a list of these names-are you still living in russia-i have not seen the name martin in these lists-but anna gutwin is there several times in different generations-the name frederick might be the german name friedrich-all these poeple had the same first names and surnames-that makes it so hard to sort it out-maybe you want to look it up first and we talk again-it would be nice,to find something out-greetings karin

Hi Karin, I did reply to you but I do not see it listed. Can only imagine it disappeared into cyberspace!! Firstly, I am in New Zealand not Russia. Andreas lives here too and as I suggested he would be very keen to phone you (he speaks German) and discuss details regarding the GUTWIN family.(Andreas does not have a computer which is why I am contacting you on his behalf). If you could advise your telephone number he could phone at a suitable time. By the way, where are you living? Look forward to your reply. Regards, Alison

high,alison-i am glad you wrote again-cyberspace is a good place for messages to be -lol-let me tell you my email adress-it might be easier to talk straight and not via the message board-karmun005@yahoo.de-my phone no49-176-36370434.it is a cell phone, because i am splitting my time between the united states and germany-we have kids living on both sides of the world-and right now i am in germany-i have a brandnew grandchild here,so i am staying for a while-you said, you are living in new zealand-my job brought me in a lot ot countries, but never there-i told you about orgessa.org-but all they have translated, are the german immigration numbers-so right now,i do not know, where to go-i will try to sort out the names and the years and i will send it to you-there is no chance,to get these answers from russia-most of the papers got burned, when the russian took over-i do not speak russian-so it is kind of hard,to get answers-it is a puzzle-but what we found out.is.that all these poeple lived in their villages-seperated by their religion-having the same names from generation to generation-that makes it hard to sort it out-when did andreas immigrate to new zealand-via which countries-i am sure,we are related somehow-we just have to find the connection greetings karin ps.write me directly,please-it is easier

Hello from Dnipropetrovsk to you ,

Rybalske ( former Fishdorf) is now a part of the city. And I just want to say that history of German ( Mennonite, Catholic and others ) communities has been discovered very well.

Have you ever tried to contact state archives /university/local German community ?
