....just a note concerning spelling of Nickolai Ivan's father name. It should read Ivan Eliseivitch, rather that Ivan Eli. Eli is a form of the name Elijah, where as Elisei, in the Russian language, is Elisha. Nickolai Ivanitch's grandfather was Elisei Artyomitch Nazaroff.

My father's mother was Stenya Ivanovna Samarin (Nazaroff).
Her father was Ivan Ivanitch Nazaroff.
His father was Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff.
His father was Eilisei Artyomitch Nazaroff.

.......my son is Elisei Stefanitch Samarin (born 07/16/04).

note: ALL Russian Molokans in America with the Family name Nazaroff are directly related to one another. There was only one Nazaroff man that migrated to America from the Molokan Villages of the old country, and that was Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff. He was my Great-Great-Grandfather.

Hi Steve, you indicated that
"There was only one Nazaroff man that migrated to America from the Molokan Villages of the old country, and that was Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff"

If he came to America, then my information showing he died in Russia is incorrect. I also show his wife as Fedosia Feodorevna Valov who died 1933 in Russia. How correct is that information?
I show that their children are William, Gavril, Alex, Ivan, Anya, Masha, Tania, Nickolai, Fannie and Mary with Unknown birth and death. Do you have a tree you can send me?
Thanks Steve.
Nancy

Hello Nancy,

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff migrated to the U.S. and passed away in 1917. Buried in Kerman, CA.

His wife, Fedosia Feodorevna Nazaroff (Valov), also came to the U.S. with Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff, along with their many children and grand children. I do have more information regarding this family, being as I am directly related from them. It is true that Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff was the one and only Nazaroff that came to America from the old country (Turkey and Armenia). His fathers on the Nazaroff side came to the U.S. after having lived in Turkey for some twenty years. Prior to that, his Nazaroff fathers resided in the village of Nikitino, Armenia wherein they lived for at least forty years, having been relocated from Russia / Tavria provence. Prior to this they had lived in the inner / central to north central provinces of Tambovski gubernia for some time, possibly even unto the days of the Khazarian Empire....previous rulers of those areas pre-dating the rise of present day "Russia".

As for Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff, we say that he was the only Nazaroff to have migrated to the U.S. in that all who are of the Nazaroff family tree here in America decended from him, being as he was the father & grandfather of the group that came to the U.S., himself included.

Remaining members of his immediate family (siblings)who did not migrate to the U.S. include two other brothers that I know of:
1. Feodor Eliseivitch Nazaroff
2. ? Eliseivitch Nazaroff

Feodor Eliseivitch Nazaroff remained behind in the village of Nikitina, Armenia. His brother, the aforementioned Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff, left this same village in the 1880's and moved to Turkey...Karskoye Oblast, from where he, Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff, with his own immediate family, eventually migrated to America sometime between 1904-1907.

Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff's father's name was Elisei Artyomitch. He had an uncle that I know of...Fitis (pronounced Fee-tees) Artyomitch Nazaroff, both of the village of Nikitina, Armenia.

The decendents of our Nazaroff family tree who did not migrate from Armenia into Turkey in the 1880's, and having stayed behind in the village of Nikitina, Armenia, still live there to this day. I have personally visited with them.

Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff's other brother (listed as number two above) was, after having refused to give in to efforts on the part of the government authorities of that era to force him to deny his true faith in God, exiled to the wilds of Siberia. He was apparently never heard from again.

At the moment I am short on time. But as for Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff's wife, Fedosia Feodorevna Nazaroff,

Hi Steve, thank you for the information.

Your last sentence trailed off
"At the moment I am short on time. But as for Ivan Eliseivitch Nazaroff's wife, Fedosia Feodorevna Nazaroff, " and didn't end. I know you are short on time. When you get the chance, would you send me a current Nazaroff tree.

I created a monumental task of going through all of the trees and emails and messages from the board to make sure I have everything correct. My hard drive is just about full and need to start deleting some stuff.

The last Filatoff tree that you sent George Boldroff was in 2003! Would you also sent the Filatoff tree? I'm sure there is corrected information.

Thanks in advance...........we all need one another to help one another to sort out our past. Thanks for being a key player!
