The attached page is the only information I have on my 2x great uncle. I have no idea where to begin to look for information in Canada about his parents.

I have 3 records saying that he made it to the US in 1860-61.

James Edmund Campbell
Birth 22 Oct 1833 in New Brunswick, Canada
Death 05 Feb 1906 in Amber, Mason, Michigan, USA

His Parents where
John Campbell
Elspet Sutherland

If anyone could give me a lead on some places to look or some information about his parents I would be indebted.

Ok Darlene before I go any further.

I need to verify that I have the correct birth record for James. Unfortunately James death certificate is full of errors and unknowns. It was filled out by a step child of his that did not know the answers to the questions.

James worked for the state government in Michigan I am waiting for them to get back to me with information about him. I am assuming that he had to fill out information about himself when he was employed.

I believe this to be the best way to verify his birth date and location. As soon as I get a response I will get back to you.

The Social Security application would have information he
filled in, his name, birth date and place, as well as his parent's names and also has his signature. It would cost about $29 dollars and might take a month to arrive, but it would be what he knew.

Say Darlene. I have not yet proved my relation to John Campbell and Elspet Sutherland however. This link may interest you. I dont know how much of this stuff you already know. But Thomas did some digging for me and came up with a few details that you may or may not know. Just thought I would share it with you.
