I ask, as my McKee are originally from Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. Many McKee are originally from there or at least from Down.
Of course there are many John, James, William, Andrews in the family.
I know even my McKee once went to Penn. USA but did not like it so they went back to Down. However my Grandpa went to Canada (Windsor,Ontario/Detroit Michigan) area when he came back. He later meet my Grandmother and stay, but went home many, many times.
I am on my way back to Ireland in Sept to stay with the McKee's who are still there. I found them over the internet.
I just wondered if you have any other details on your McKee's

I have seen your postings on Andrew McKee. My ancestor is also Andrew McKee, but I do not think we are related, because mine came for Northern Ireland and settled in Carlisle, PA in about 1757. I do not know where they are from in Northern Ireland, but think it might be the Coleraine area of Derry. I have not been able to find my the father of my Andrew either. We have reason to believe that his father's name was William but I can't find the proof. My Andrew was born 1747. He had 2 brothers who enlisted with him in the Rev. War at Carlisle, PA in about 1776. Their names were William and Thomas. If you are going to be visiting with a McKee family in N. Ireland in Sept. perhaps they may know of this family. If we have the right family, Andrew's grandfather would have been John McKie born abt 1665-1670 in Minnigaff, Kircudbright, Scotland and Ester Hawthorne born about 1672 also in Minnigaff. I will be happy to share more information if you would like.

That must be a different family, because I do not have a John McKie with a wife named Margory Stewart. The marriage date you have shown must be incorrect - since 1657 would have been before John was born. I also don't have a David born that early. I have a David born 1740 in Scotland, and he came to the USA. His son John was one of the founders of McKeesport, PA.
