I am researching my grandfarther, O.V. Shoupe. He had church services in Ky, Va, WVa, Tn. Had services in the 1970's & 1980's. Had went to jail for holding this type of church services many times back then. Had tent services in and around these states. Lived in TN during his last services and passed away there.
My grandmother was Mary Elizabeth (Farmer) Shoupe.
Would like to find anyone with more information about my grandfarther and grandmother.
Also researching: Evans, Farmer, Delk, Adams, Fraley, Brock, Riddle, ETC.

I cannot find any info on a Shoupe or Farmer family member who were members of the Church.
I do have Evans family information-my GGGrandparents are Drew Evans and Mary Pendleton Evans of Eastern KY and West VA. GGGreat Grandpa and Gramma Evans lived out their lives in Elliott Co. KY along with my Fraley Ancestors.

My grandmother Mary Elizabeth Farmer (Evans) Shoupe. *Will Explain the many last names.

My GGGrandfarther I have been told was William C. Evans *m. Lavinia Delk. At some point my grandfarther's children changed there last name to Farmer? He was born around 1880's lived in & around Black Mountain,KY. He died young have been told he was killed in the coal mines around 1912 / 1916? Not knowing what mine this might have been?
I have been trying to find the reason they changed there name or if they really did. My family members are also trying to find the truth about the Evans & Farmer names, so far no one has found any thing on paper to confirm the changes.

The Fraley family you have would there be a Eli - Ely Fraley?
Worked for the railroad in & around KY? He was supposed to have farthered my grandfarther Adams from Cumberland. His mother was Mary Brock. She married an Adams & gave my grandfarther his last name? Would you have any inforamtion on this family?
Any info would be helpful.

I went through my Evans family files and cannot find William C. Evans md. to Lavinia Delk-and do not have Eli/Ely Fraley in any of my Fraley lines.

I don't know if this is the same person but my family had an Oddie Shoupe, my granffather's cousin, who was supposedly a snake handler in Ky and Tn. I believe he was the son of Henry Shoupe from Ohio. This info comes from my mother and she remembers him from her childhood. I am currently doing research on my Shoupe ancestors but they are hard to find and connect. Let me know if this has helped.

That pretty much sounds like my grandfather. My grandmothers name was Mary Elizabeth Farmer-Shoupe.

Oddie's mom was Rachel Florence Trosper.
He had a sister named Either/ m. (Todd)

I met Oddie Vuie Shoupe in Monterey, Tennessee in 1974. He was a snake handling preacher. Is this your grandfather? If this is the same man, let me know. I might have information for you.
