Try the Federal Census & the NY State Census as well...May be in the pages after the enumeration as a business or as 0ccupation in the listing County ,town HistoryFrench's Historical Gazetteer of NY c 1860 says 2 smiths in the town in a footnote page 165.Catskill & Canajoharie RR ran for a time 2 years.then tracks taken up.
