i'm looking for anyone who might related to a jasper mead or eractus sweet .. jasper moved to amsterdam and eractus died in westerlo... he had a son name anthony sweet and caleb sweet ... anthony sweet went to amsterdam and married jasper meads daughter sarah... from the town of florida..

I have 2 individuals named Jasper Mead in my database; one is the grandson of the other. One was b. in 18th cent., and the other was b. in 19th cent. They were distant cousins of mine.

hi there... my jasper mead lived in westerlo in 1840 then moved to glennville ny... he had a son named jasper that moved to bethlehem albany in the 1880and was a doctor.. then he moved to westerlo ny a doctor... my dad said he remebered his father saying they called his uncle doc... i'm still researching this family... there is a family bible i'm trying to take a look at,, but the gentlemens wife just pasted recently and i didn't feel it was the right time to ask about the bible.. but he told me it was filled with meads and sweets.. and other members of the family that married into the family.. let me know if this rings a bell ..

None of those rings a bell, but there MIGHT be a connection because dates and location may be positve. Though I have no dates on my Jasper (5th cousin 5 times removed), his father, Abraham Mead (1783-1849), resided in NY state, and the family was originally from Greenwood, Steuben, NY. Jasper's mother was Rachel Mead (that was her MAIDEN name as well as her married name). Rachel's father was also a Jasper Mead

I am working with Renee on the sweet/ mead genealogy and have found and learned alot of information. We ended up being related and we are still working together on this. The question i have is that i have an Erastus Sweet in my family line who had a son Anthony but, i cannot find out who or where erastus parents are, or where they come from. Maybe u have some info on this

Rick, I have NO info on any of the Sweet families. Good luck in your search, and if you identify a related Jasper Mead with dates I'd certainly like to hear from you.

This Jasper Mead sounds like the brother of Catherine Mead (1791- )who married Peter Light Shear in 1805. Jasper (1797-1875) married Sarah/Sally Cole in 1831 lived in Westerlo and then Glenville, NY They were two of about 13 children of Jeremiah Mead and Mary Shear. What information do you have on the parents?

me and another family memeber have been trying to find out. but sounds like you have more info.. jasper mead is greatgrandfather his daughter sarah mead married anthony sweet.. from westerlo.. but moved to glennville as well with the mead family.. and also jasper meads old house is were sweet corners is in the town of glennville.. i have a picture of jasper mead its a tine plate picture.. very old.. if you have any info would like to share.. renee

Did you ever get more information on the parents of jasper or jeremiah.. I have names and dates out for several generations but i really am looking for supporting documentation, photos, images of gravestones, and additional relatives/aunts/uncles..

hi there i did get in contact with the mead family from westerlo.. there is only two family members that still live on the land there,,, the family cemetery is at the farm.. fench in.. and the gentlemen has the bible.. i will be seeing him again this summer.. i talked with him for awhile.. jeremiah fathers name is john,, he told me that in stories of the family they were one of the first families that came to that area,,, and john mead is buried on top of a mountain.. with his wife.. he said that he needs to find out were he put the bible to give me the name of the wife... but i did get alot of info.. pluse picture of jeremiah meads stone and all the children that are buried there.. i do have more info..
