Hello there - I am looking for anyone who may have any information or connection with George and Agnes Bain who arrived in Australia on the ship "Nabob" in 1855. They had a son John Hastie Bain born in Edinburgh 1854. They also had David, George 1855, Robert 1858, Agnes 1860, Margaret 1863 James 1865 and Mary J b 1870.

George and Agnes were married in St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh 17th November, 1850.

You will locate the family in New South Wales. Perhaps Placing a message on the NSW board, they will assist you with the records..

The NABOB arriving 5 Feb 1855 has a John Bain, aged 1,
born Edinburgh. It also has David, aged 3, born Cranstone, Edinburgh, and their parents are with them,
George Bain, Carpenter & joiner, aged 26, and Agnes Bain, 28, born Glasgow. George's parents were David & Margaret, and Agnes's parents both dead.

There was another family Bain on board: John & Jeanette, with their three children - but they were from Newton, Ayrshire.
