I am looking for the parents of my great-great grandmother, Emma Dupee. She was born in Champlain on 20 Sep 1862 and baptized at St. Mary’s on 30 Sep 1862. She first married Alexander LaFountain who was much older than her. They had at least 3 children (Oscar, Anna and Alexander Jr.) prior to his death on 10 Oct 1891 at Champlain. She then married Peter LaPine who was also much older than her. They had at least 8 children (Lucy, Louise, Gideon, Frederick, Rosanna, Henry, Raymond and Arthur). After Peter died on 26 Feb 1913, she married Moses Bourcier on 26 Sep 1916 at Mooers Forks which is a mystery marriage as no one seems to recall this husband but I have found the marriage record. To add to the mystery, the 1920 census lists Emma as living with her husband Peter who had died 7 years earlier. After Moses died, she married Joseph Dushane at Mooers on 29 Jun 1922. Emma was much older than Joseph and he outlived her. Emma died at Perrys Mills on 6 Jun 1942.

Emma’s baptism and death record gives her parents as Louis Dupee and Louise Dupee. Her obituary also gives a sister, Mrs. Joseph Ives, who was Angeline Dupee. She was born at Champlain on 19 Apr 1880 and died in Plattsburgh on 14 Mar 1955. Angeline had first been married to Henry Cardinal. Angeline’s death certificate lists her parents as Louis Dupee and Louise Laroe. After some digging, I found Louise had married Alfred Laroe at Champlain on 20 Nov 1886. I also found Alfred and Louise in the 1892 New York State census living at Champlain with a daughter from her marriage to Louis Dupee. Her name was Amelia and she was born about 1878. Louise’s age on this census indicates she was born in Quebec about 1847. I have not been able to find any record of Louis and Louse Dupee, the parents of Emma, Amelia and Angeline, anywhere. I have also seen Louis listed as Oliver Dupee on Angeline’s marriage record to Henry Cardinal. Does anyone have any information to help me get through this brick wall?

I found an Emma Dupre, born to Eusebe/Louise Laforest in the St. Anne's records, Mooers Forks. It shows that she was born 09 Sep 1883 and was from Sciota. I did not find Angeline or Amelia though. Sorry that I couldn't give you more infoand hope this much helps. I am doing a lot of searching through these records and will try to keep these names in mind.
