Looking for Helen FOSS. Born in 1928 in Tacoma, Washington. She would be my second cousin. Her father, Hjarne Foss and my mother Esther (Christensen) Leth were cousins. Her name could be Helen STAAR.

I have done considerable genealogy research.

On a Petition for Naturalization, Hjarne Bernhard Foss of 6424 Beacon Ave., Seattle, identified he had a daughter Helen Margaret Foss, Born January 5, 1928, at Tacoma, WA.

Half hour after you posted in Kitsap County, you posted on the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society board:
http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.cal...

This posting indicates "Helen Storr" was deceased.

The Social Security Death Index identifies: Helen M. Storr, born 5 Jan 1928, died 20 Feb 1998, "last residence" in Solvang, Santa Barbara Co, CA

Another web listing shows her address in 1978 was 631 Roskilde Rd, Solvang, CA 93463. Another gives an address as 2005 Alamo Pintado Rd, Solvang.

The Santa Barbara County Recorder shows a deed recorded on 8/12/1992 in the name of Helen M. Storr; Storr Revocable Trust. The County Assessor site does not have sales data to properties, so while I found the 2005 Alamo Pintado Rd, there was no owner or sales data to determine if it was still in the family. However, there was a transfer date; but no way to determine what this transfer may have been.

The Santa Ynez Valley News "appears" to be the newspaper for Solvang. Its online site did not have an obit for her.

www.zabasearch.com has an Erik Storr at both addresses found above.

Thank you for the information. I found an Erik Storr, but didn't know what his relationship was. Now I know that he's the son of Helen Forr Storr. I actually wrote him a letter hoping that he lives at the address where I sent it. I also hope that if he receives it he will answer it. Erik Storr would be my second cousin-once removed.

My name is David McMillen son of Mildred E. Foss. She is the daugter of Carl Arnold Foss who is the brother of Hjarne Bernhard Foss. Last Sunday my mother handed me the typed transcripts of the ancestral table to the Foss family tree. I am meeting with her this weekend to gather all of her old photographs and start an interview process. I found some incrediable information and photos of this family and plan to download everything into a family tree genealogy file. I am shocked by the links I have been seeing, such as yours. If you are interested in sharing information, let me know.

I am thrilled to hear from you. Within the past month I have found two relatives in Denmark and now you. For a while I thought I would never find any descendant of Anna Pedersdatter or relative of my grandfather Christensen. My research has been on the CHristensen family. Starting with Jens Peter Christensen, then four siblings. THere's Bertha, mother of Hjarn and others. I wish I had more time to write now.

Right now I'm in a hurry because I have to get to bed and get up to get ready to go away until Sunday. I'll get back to you when I get back. Please correspond with me by e-mail. My address is rogarlene@cox.net. I have a lot of information on the CHristensen family and will be getting more when I start learning more about a granddaughter of Bertha (Birthe) Christensen Foss. I can't believe it!! I would be more than happy to share my information.

Just a quick question. Do you live in the United States. If so you are the only living full blooded relative I have in the United States on my mother's side. Incidentally I have a studio photo of Hjarne and his wife. I'm sure you have it also because it was taken in Seattle, Washington.

I am thrilled to hear from you. We are related. I was in Denmark last May and met Lilje and her husband. She gave me pictures, and some of them have your father in the picture. I also saw your grandfather, Carl Peter Foss's house. I have written a book. I'm including the part about Svend. I would love to communicate with you by e-mail. I would also like to send you a copy of the chapter in my book concerning your relatives. I have a lot of pictures in the book. My e-mail address is rogarlene@cox.net.
Here's the part about Svend. I got the information from Lilje.
Svende FOSS – Svend was born Sep, 8 1908 in Copenhagen. He lived on Sonnerfupvej in Brønshoj near his nieces childhood home. This niece (Lilje Lahrmann) will have her story reported a little later in this document. He was married to Inger (maiden name Olsen), who unfortunately died in July 1954. They had two daughters, Benthe, born December 26, 1935 and Margaret, born April 11, 1946. Svend married again to Gudrun in 1960, but he died unfortunately on October 18, 1962 at age 54. It is believed that Benthe might be living in Sweden and Margaret, whose last name is still Foss, lives somewhere in North Zealand.

So you see I even have your name.

I just wanted to give you a few updates. Your Uncle Arnold had two children, Donald (whom you mentioned) and Mildred (Foss) McMillan. Your Aunt Edle had a daughter who was Lilje, and she married Henning Lahrmann. THe maiden name of Lilje was originally Olesen, but she changed it legally to Foss because she never really knew her father. Her mother and father were divorced in 1949. Lilje was born in 1944. I have considerable information on your great grandmother, Anna (Pedersdatter) Christensen. Her husband was a jerk. He abandoned his wife sometime before 1877 and then reappeared in 1880. I have a paper trail of him moving to Chicago, Illinois. Two genealogists said I can be pretty confident of my information, but I would like more proof. All of this information is in the book that I've written. Do you realize that we are second cousins, and we're only three years apart in age. I was born in 1933. I really want to share so much of my genealogy research with you. I would love to have you come to the United States and be our guest here in Arizona. I've met several second cousins in Denmark. Some of them are related on my maternal grandmother's side.

Arlene (again) I'm eagerly waiting to hear from you.
