Classification: Query
Surnames: BUCHHOLZ, BUCHOLZ, SCHMID, SCHMIDT, SMIT, MOORE
I'm looking for three carpentering brothers who were in Toledo, Ohio in 1890/91. They don't seem to have returned to the original family home in Ann Arbor, MI and are not buried with the rest of their family there. Following are the names of all (8) children of the family, in case subsequent generations recycled some of them:
Parents: Gottlieb BUCHHOLZ (one h later dropped)and wife, Caroline SCHMID (might be a t on the end) emigrated from Prussia 1868/69 to New York>Ann Arbor, MI. Some children emigrated with them and others were born in the US.
Herman, Labrecht G. (Labbey)(m.), Bertha Mathilda Charlotte, Albert A., William F., Henry, Charles L., and Frank H..

The missing sons are:
Albert A. BUCHOLZ
b. 1870 in Prussia. It is unknown if he married. Last whereabouts: 1890/91 was staying in boarding house at 1965 Erie, Toledo, Ohio. Trade: Carpenter and doesn't say where he was working.

William F. BUCHOLZ
b. 1869 in New York (during or shortly after voyage from
Prussia. He was a carpenter by trade, but doesn't say where he was working in Toledo, Ohio in 1890/91 when he was boarding at 1965 Erie. He returned to Ann Arbor, MI, to marry (In 27 Aug 1892) Sarah A. MOORE, b. 1869 in Indiana. (dressmaker daughter of P. MOORE and Sarah MAYNES. The trail is cold after the marriage.

The sister of these three men was also staying in Toledo, Ohio, in the same boarding house at 1965 Erie for a period of time. She has no trade or work listed and shortly thereafter returned to Ann Arbor to marry my gr. grandfather, Richard Garibaldi PORTWINE (also a carpenter).

Frank H. BUCHOLZ is the third missing brother from this family. He was b. 1 Aug 1875 in Ann Arbor, MI and it is not known if he married. He was a carpenter by trade and in 1890/91 he was living at 556 Church Street, Toledo, Ohio and working as a carpenter for the Wabash R. R., in Toledo.

If anyone can shed some light on where they may have gone on to, I'd be delighted to hear from you.

I am looking for Bertha Bucholz b.November 18, 1863 in Neustettin Pommernia, Germany d. Detroit, MI September 23, 1939, m. Otto August Wolff they had 7 children.

All I know about Bertha is:
Johann and Augusta (Bucholz) Schuelke with Schuelke Children: Wilhelm (m.Maass), Bertha Emma (m.Luebke), Johann (m.Holke), Pauline (m.Schuetz) and Ida arrived in the United States in April 1890, and became citizens in 1895

Augusta's daughter Bertha Bucholz arrived in the USA a few years earlier, possible 1885. Her sponsors lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan and that is where she lived for a few years before moving to Detroit.

All of this info is so sketchy and limited, I am just at a stand still with this branch of the family. If you can help
Please let me know. We have in common Bucholz and Ann Arbor, MI Thank You

I'm having a similar issue.

I'm decended from the Ann Arbor Bucholz's/Otto's. If I can find anything else, I'll let you know.

I know I'm related to the following:
Neil D. Bucholz, Richard Bucholz, Ken Bucholz, Russell Bucholz, Charlie Bucholz, Margaret Otto. That doesn't take me back very far, I'm afraid.
