Anyone can apply for a search by post and also request a copy of the certificates if the search is successful. All the information, inlcuding fees, is available starting here:

Hi and thank you for posting this up... Will Hong Kong have BMD certificates for people born in Canton? I'm looking for my grandfathers extra details so that I maybe able to trace his parents and family if poss. (Ah Kau Ng Kun born Canton 20th February 1903). Thanks, Lima

I wonder if you can help me I am searching for my Great Uncle for my mother
George Sydney Burton Sayer he was a journalist went in to Hong Kong first time 1910 Worked for the Newspaper as a journalist ( would love to see his articles) Married from what I have found a Jeanie Hill They had one child hat died? then from records I believe two daughters Kathleen and Margaret A Burton Sayer
I know they were in Shanghai in 1936 George was 56 years old at that time
How would I find any birth certificates or there deaths
Are any newspapers archived I am sure might have reported no the war
Any help would be appreciated

I don't know if you can help but my grandfather name is Terence Claude hill. I know he had two sisters and when japan invaded hongkong him and his two sisters where bought to Australia. My grandfather dissaperead from his sisters reasons unknown and then a few years after the war returned to hongkong still a young man and couldn't find his family. As far as we know one of his sisters had some connection to a journalist in honking names unknown. Can you help with any info

Just wondering my relative came to Australia and married in 1860, but to marry this woman he had to convert to christianty (sorry about spelling)His name was A/Ah Tak and was born in China the name he choice was WIlliam Virtue. Can you help me I do know his parents name but there is no trace of hi after 1861. Or know where I might find out about him. I understand if this is beyond you cause its very hard for me lol
