I got an iPad as a gift so decided to take the leap and uploaded my FTM12 tree to Ancestry. Thank goodness my tree still seems to be unscathed on my laptop, but my online tree and the iPad app tree are a little screwy - relationship-wise...My father is now 1st great grand nephew of husband of 1st cousin 2x removed of wife. My mother is wife wife of 1st great grand nephew of husband of 1st cousin 2x removed of wife. My maternal grandfather is father-in-law of 1st great grand nephew of husband of 1st cousin 2x removed of wife. Maternal grandma is mother-in-law of 1st great grand nephew of husband of 1st cousin 2x removed of wife. My sister - 2nd great grand niece of husband of 1st cousin 2x removed of wife. My daughter is my 3rd great grand niece of husband of 1st cousin 2x removed of wife. etc...I want my family back! I am afraid now to sync my trees (even though I enjoy using the iPad app and think that I would also enjoy some of the conveniences of working online) in case the original tree gets "corrupted"...Is there any point in deleting my online tree and uploading again? Or is this a glitch that can't be fixed and I should just scrap the idea of syncing?

Re: Relationship woes....
oh, and I am not the "home person" on my online tree - I am 2nd great grand niece of husband of 1st cousin 2x removed of wife to myself...sigh

Re: Relationship woes....
kozakavich,
Did you change the hope person in your Ancestry Member Tree? If so, did that resolve the problem?

Re: Relationship woes....
Yes, I was the home person - but when I went to the screen where I could change the home person, I found that "I" - the person looking at the tree - wasn't "me" but one of my long dead rellies..."Who you are in this tree?" was the query...so I changed THAT to ME and it seems to have worked. The options were to "change" it or to "set to none". Thank you, Russ, for getting to go beyond what I was seeing!!! I'm not familiar with the online version yet and just panicked when I saw that I wasn't me! Identity crisis! (smile)
