Hello, I am not related. I am posting this info here instead of your home mailing address so other researchers that try to help you can see what already has been found.

I think this may be Edward and Rosalind in the census records with their parents and siblings. I would probably check for a marriage record of Edward and Rosalind in Ozaukee County. Their marriage record should prove if Rosalind's parents were Frederich Carl Wessel Julia Caroline Kickhoffer, who also married in Ozaukee County in 1903. See marriage details below.

Edward's parents were most likely Gustave H Nicolaus and Marie (maiden name unknown), and they may have married in Washington County about 1909. Marie remarried a John R Muehleisen, sometime between Edward's birth (1910) and the 1920 census, probably in Washington or Ozaukee County.

Hope this helps,

Hi again,

Clifford and Evelyn most likely married in Winnebago County, Illinois. Have you looked for a marriage record there? Evelyn's parents, George and Mamie (Mary) Shockley may have married there too, or in New Haven County, Connecticut.

George was most likely naturalized in Winnebago County, Illinois, also. have you looked for his immigration papers there?

It looks like George died June 26, 1965 in Sparta, Monroe County, Wisconsin. Look for his death record there.

Mamie may have died Feb 4, 1962 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. I found a Mattie Oxley in the death index. Maybe her first name was indexed as Mattie instead of Mamie? see the index at the end of this post.

Hope this helps,
Ruth

(photo of the plant is in the newspaper)

A rare plant is the night bloomong cereus! What is believed to be the only plant in Evansville and vicinity is in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Fuller four miles southwest of the city.
Mr. and Mrs. Fuller moved here from Rockford, two months ago and brought with them the rather homely night blooming cereus plant which, they had been told might bloom when it was seven years old.
Mrs. Fuller said: "I was skeptical about ever having a flower on it, but about a year ago it produced a blossom and it was so beautiful I felt repaid for my efforts.
About 6 p.m. on a recent day the white cone shaped bud began to unfold and continued the slow operation until about 9 p.m. when it was in full bloom. The bud is not fragrant but as soon as it is open a sweet fragrance fills the room. The flower is beautiful for one night but is completely wilted in the morning.
The plant in the Fuller home is seven feet tall and has long, narrow escalloped leaves. The bud stem sprouts from a leaf rather than the trunk of the plant, is eight inches long, and turns up at the end where the bud appears. The same leaf produced the flowers both last year and this year.
When the flower is in full bloom it measures eight inches across, is waxy white and the center stamens are thin white threads tipped with tiny yellow balls. In the center is also a delicate, white star shaped formation.

All of this imformation is truely amazing. Of, course I just read all your posts and have not had time to process it, but I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Also, can you tell me where you went to find this information. I have a few websites that I have been using, but have found nothing to this extent. I have never done anything like this before and am very inexperienced.

Thank you-thank you! Lorie

This is most likely Fred Wessel & Julia Kiekhoefer in the 1900 census with their parents & siblings. Fred & Julia were Rosalind's parents, so this would be her grandparents.

Lori,

The census records and other indexes were written by people who sometimes spelled the names as they thought it should be written as it sounded to them, and not as they most likely should be spelled.

Also, sometimes the persons who index the records think the name is spelled differently than what is actually written in the records. For example the 1920 census for George and Mamie Oxley was indexed as George and Marnie Opley, but when I looked at the actual record, I could see that it was Oxley and Mamie. If you want, I can send you the actual images of the census records to your home e-mail address.

Ruth
