Looking for information on great grandmothers sister and her husband Katherine Oseletto born in Utah (1887) married to Joseph Oseletto born in Italy(?1884). His name might have been Giuseppe but was later changed. From the research I have gathered it looks like they lived in a town Pioche. Any information on area in early 1900's when they would have been married would be helpful. Looking for death information on Joseph Oseletto. Katherine died in Shasta, CA in 1961.

I don't know if you are still looking for information on Joseph Oseletto or not but it you go to Pioche's website at (http://www.piochenevada.com/history.htm) they have a picture of Joseph in his Saloon. Not a great picture but if you write to the Museum they would probably send you a copy. and possibly more information. We recently went to Pioche this summer searching for information on our family who lived in Bullionville and are buried in the old cemetery there. (the Kiernan Family). Pioche is a very old historic town, many of the buildings still stand. But they still have no grocery store, they rely on the Schwan man.
I recognized the name Oseletto from my own research in Pioche and thought I would see what I could find.
Anyway I found a Joseph D Oseletto born 1884 died 1941 buried in the Pioche Masonic Cemetery (located half a block from the Boot Hill Cemetery and the Pioche Cemetery. There is also a Michael Oseletto buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Pioche, born 13 ?? 1855. and died 6 Dec 1912 Heastone reads "Father".
I found Joseph & Katheline in the 1930 Pioche census. it lists him as a hotel Porprietor. immigrated 1906.
In the World War I military draft records for Lincoln County Nevada taken between 1917-18 a Giuseppe Oseletto born 18 Oct 1884 It lists him as W Italian; rel.lives Salt Lake City, lives in Lincoln County NV

As soon as I sent my last post I Decide to look for Joe Oseletto in Utah, since the WW1 draft records list his relatives as from SLC. Right away I found him in the 1920 Census. Living with a widowed sister in law named Minnie Oseletto. her children listed are Frank, Earnest, Rosa, & Mike.the children are all listed as born in Utah. They lived in Copperfield, Bingham Canyon. (now Kennicot Copper mine). He was listed as a miner.

I have been on a search for my anscestry and believe to be related somehow to the "Oseletto" name. The name of Katherine sounds very familiar as well as the origin of Utah.

Since posting my message I have been able to find some additional information on Joseph Oseletto. He was born 18 October 1884 in Torine, Italy. He died 2 May 1941 in Pioche, Lincoln, Nevada. He married Katie Phizacklea (maiden name Hoover) 15 June 1921 according to obituary of Joseph Oseletto. I have researched some other Oseletto's in Utah and he had a brother here also. I will need to go look through my information again. I know Joseph lived in Salt Lake City for awhile before he married Katie. I have not been able to find a copy of his immigration papers or of his marriage certificate to Katie.

I would love to share information and see if there is a connection.

My great grand mother was kathern. I am william oseletto grand daughter.

I have no idea if this is helpful, in fact it seems confusing, but the Plizacklea name is very unusual.

Do you have any pictures of Katherine and her two sisters, or Katherine and her parents? I have do done a lot of research on Katherine and her two sisters who were twins, Nellie Pearl and Ruby Maude. I found an announcement in the newspaper when she was born. Do you know much about her father Frank Hoover? I know that her mother Olive Etta Pace married Frank Hoover 25 March 1887. Katherine was born the 5 December 1887. On 22 August 1889 Olive and Frank had the twins. I can find mention of Frank in the local papers up through December of 1889. He was a deputy sherriff. After that he just seems to drop off the face of the earth.

Not sure what happened to him. I have heard stories here and there but would be curious to hear what you might have heard. Did Katherine have a journal or life history that was written in.

I know Olive remarried in 1896 to John Schoettlin in Colorado. She was living with her oldest sister in Colorado, not sure if Katherine and the twins were living with her or with Olive's mom in Provo, Utah.

Any light you can shed on this family would be great.
