I have seen hints here and there that TMG 8 is in the works - however, nothing since before Christmas.

Does anybody know about a release date, if any?

As per usual TMG custom, the release date for TMG v8 will be announced on the date it is released- not before. This has been their standard practice for years and I don't see them changing it.
