I have a partial Burton family tree for the Burtons of Roberton parish, Roxburghshire, Scotland which was compiled by my aunt in Ontario in the 1970s. According to her research, Gilbert Burton, born at Roberton, 1810, died June 14, 1868. He married Isabella Bone (could be the same as Boa?)
1814-Jun. 28, 1858 and they had 9 children. Gilbert was the son of William Burton (1782-1861) and Elizabeth Oliver (1781-1861). He was the grandson of Henry Burton and Helen Henderson. Several of Gilbert's brothers: Robert, Henry and James moved to Ontario, Can. in the 1820s or 30s and had farms in York and Peel Co. I am a descendant of Robert Burton. I am interested in more information on the Scottish branches of the family and can provide info. on the Ontario branches.

Isabella is definitely a BOA she was the daughter of William BOA and Catherine Scott. She was one of 9 Children

Gilbert was married a second time to Jessie Wilkie 13 Jan 1859 at Kirkhope Selkirk. I only know of 8 children that Gilbert and Isabella had but I do know that Jessie and Gilbert

Mt friend Jean wood in Selkirk is related.Her e-mail is jmwood@cuthil.fsnet.co.uk. She has been in contact with Bob Burton in Kansas Richard Gamble in Port George BC and Anne Ellis in Kent England all relatives. I notice in 2005 Richard Gamble has an entry re Bortons on this site.
I believe two of them have been to Selkirk to visit Jean and has seen the gravestones in Selkirk and Ettrick?Yarrow cemeteries. An exchange of info would be welcome.
