My grandfather's application to become a citizen indicates he was born in Mirones Spain. I cannot find in which part of Spain it is (or was) located. Can anyone help?

My family too is from Mirones. The town is located 31km south of Santander in the north of Spain

I noticed your surnames had Gomez. Are you related to Luisa Gomez from Mirones? If so, she is my great-great grandmoher.

I, too, have ancestors from Mirones, Spain. Dmunoz124, perhaps your Luisa Gomez is related to my ancestors? My great grandfather was Saul Gomez. It's very confusing to me how the naming works. His mother was Dionisia Gomez and her father was Lorenzo Gomez. According to my great Uncle Sandro (who has since passed away), the Gomez family oringated in a little suburb of Mirones called La Cantolla. I have some old scanned black and white photos of what Mirones and La Cantolla looked like. I wish I had the date they were taken!
