I am descendant of Joseph Benenhaley. Joseph and Elizabeth Miller Benenhaley would be my gggggg-grandparents. Joseph/Elizabeth > Leo Cadeo/William M Taylor > William J Taylor/Catherine Saluda Dopson > James Floyd Taylor/Winnie Harriett Nelson > Carrie Leo Taylor/John Richard McManus > Nunie Mae McManus/William David Haddock > Zoie Oleta Haddock/Harold Dean Arrington > Pamela Oleta Arrington/Monty Ray Webb

Sumter Co SC > Pike Co GA > LA > Sulphur Springs TX > Commerce, TX

Any information on any of these families would be great....

I believe I am a descent of Joseph and Elizabeth Benenhaley also. I am not exactly sure how this is so, but my grandfather was David Anderson Benenhaley, who was the youngest child of Leslie Rae Benenhaley and her husband who I can't recall. My grandfather grew up in Sumter, SC and moved in 1969, with his German war bride, Christina, to Bel Air, Maryland. They had 4 children, Ruth, Shirley, Barbara and Michael. I am the daughter of Barbara and Mark Dedrich, who reside in Bel Air, Maryland. I live in New York City and am in my last year of law school.

My grandfather passed away in 1982 and since then there has been little communication with his relatives who live in Sumter County today. Would love to get any information that could help piece together the puzzle.

Hello, I am so excited to hear from you. I am getting ready for work but would be glad to share all I have. I am find the Benenhaley family very interesting. I have one other family member that lives about 45 mins from me also and she has shared stuff as well. I am in Commerce Texas about an hour NE of Dallas and I work for the Commerce Housing Authority. I have been married 22 yrs and have two grown girls in their 20s. Living in New York City must be very exciting and studying law I sure is very time consuming not to mention teadious. Could you send me a direct email address? Mine is pamjam@koyote.com I will dig into this tonight and get back with you! Thanks Pam

I am descended from Joseph and Elizabeth Benenhaley> Henry Garland Taylor> John William Taylor> Elizabeth Taylor. Very glad to meet you! According to info I have, Henry was born about 1851 in Pike Co., Ga. to William and Locadia Taylor. Henry moved to Texas around 1872. I wonder what relationship to Henry were the other Texas descendants of the Taylor/Benehaley family? I also wonder if they all moved to Texas together by wagon train/convoy? Also I find in the Census that William and Locadia remained in Ga. My mother Elizabeth, granddaughter of Henry, was born in Texas, but moved back to Ga, with parents and Henry after 1911. I have some historical references to Joseph Benenhaley if you don't already have them . Will be happy to correspond. Faye Rickerson

My name is Donna Oxendine, I am doing research on the Benenhaley family line. Your great-grandmother Lessie Rae Benenhaley was married to a David Benenhaley. She also had a son David, who would have been your grandfather. I am doing research to find some supporting documentation, on the parents of Lessie Rae Benenhaley. If you have any information on her please contact me at momma6dmo@yahoo.com.
