Since my grandfather passed away last October, I've had an itch to know who I am.

My dad's side of the family is from Fuzhou, Fujian, and my grandfather was a shoemaker name Lien Ko Feng (spelling?) that imigrated to Taiwan, where I believe he had a restaurant, then a shoe store, and passed away last year at around 80. I am not sure as to where he met my grandmother(mainland or taiwan), but she was a Chen, but had been adopted. She is currently about 71. I remember hearing when I was younger that the Lien Clan of Fuzhou was somehow associate with the Oyan(oyang?) Clan.

My mother's side of the family is from Taiwan, my maternal grandfather's last name was Chan(Zhan) and my grandmother's maiden name was Chung(Zhong, Jung) and either or both was Hakka. my grandfather passed away in 1988 and my grandmother was a teacher in thailand and japan until she retired back to Taiwan. she is around 77?

My family is in Taiwan and my grandpa came from ZheJiang (small village by sea) in 1930 to Taiwan. He lived in Taichung most of his life till about 20 years ago.

My family name is 连 (LIAN). I don't have many info about my family because my grandfather don't want tell much story. Therefore I really want to know if anyone have same family name and I want to know about my ancestor. Anyone can give me idea or see the family tree if you have one.
What I know is my grandpa was move from China to North Sumatra, Indonesia. My grandfather's name is Lian Cin Sui (连 颏 水). Born 5 Jan 1933. Anyone have track the Lian 连 family tree??
