I came across a list of clarks in hopkins co and there was a photo of beriah clark. This "may" be a clue: From Helen Hart Peyton's large book of western Ky. pioneers, I find a LaFayette W. Clark who md. Elizabeth Josephine Kirkwood. Among their children was a William Gilbert Clark who was born about 1853. Nothing more was mentioned pertaining to William. William's siblings were: Theodore W., Walker S., Henry Cordis, Anarpy C.(Sisk), Hanora P.(Tapp) (Fox), Martha Evelyn (Sisk) and Ashley Rudy. Hope this helps. Phil

My Grandfather, Beriah M. Clark was born Aug. 6, 1859 in Hopkins County, KY. Beriah was the son of Charles W. Clark and Narcissa Obedience Butler. According to census records, Charles was born in Tennessee about 1829 and his Father was John K. Clark, born about 1810. Narcissa was the daughter of William G. Butler. Here is a note of information concerning William G. Butler.

From "Death Notices from Nashville Christian Advocate". William G. Butler b. Lincoln Co. TN 17 Dec 1810, married Sarah J. Woodard 28 Oct 1828, moved to KY 1845, licenced to preach Methodist Church, died 5 Feb 1883 Christian Co., KY.

My Grandfather, Beriah M. Clark moved his family to Stoddard County, Missouri in about 1905 and his brother, Ezekiel Haddock Clark moved his family to Southern Illinois, near Harrisburg along about the same time. The Jimmie Clark that you mentioned, from the picture on one of the family pages of my web site at http://faithmemories.com, is a G/Grandson of Ezekiel Haddock Clark.

Some of John K. Clark's descendants through his son Joshua G. Clark moved to Indiana. I'm not certain of the date but I believe it was in the early 1900's. My Uncle Bryan Clark told me several times, "The Clarks are like a bottle of ants, when you take the lid off they spread out all over the place."
