Hi Debbie,
Do you know if Howard was a resident of the eastern Shasta Co. area? (Burney, Fall River, McArthur, etc.?) If so, I'll go to the local paper office. If not, I'll have the film of the Redding paper sent up. (The online Redding only goes back to 1991).

DEATH -- STEDMAN -- Howard STEDMAN died today at Mercy Hospital in Redding. He was 72. Arrangements are pending at Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel.

HOWARD STEDMAN -- Mount Shasta -- Funeral services for Howard Chester STEDMAN of McCloud will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel.

STEDMAN, a retired U.S. Plywood employe, died Friday at Mercy Medical Center in Redding. He was 73.

He was born Oct. 14, 1903, in Franklin, S.D., and lived in Siskiyou County 36 years. STEDMAN was a dry kiln worker for U.S. Plywood for 27 years.

He leaves his wife, Annette of McCloud; 2 daughters, Joyce IACONIS of McCloud and Melba MARTIN of New Jersey; a brother, Stanley of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Audrey STANLEY of Clark, S.D.; and a cousin, Merle DOKE of Faith, S.D.

The Rev. Erhard RUPP of the First Lutheran Church of Dunsmuir will officiate at the services, followed by burial in Mount Shasta Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Van Fund, c/o Evelyn Thomas of McCloud.
