I have the Report of Death for Dudley V. Baker who died July 28, 1939 at Capilla Evangelica, Siquatepeque in Honduras. I am uncertain what Dudley was doing in Honduras at that time. His wife took charge of the remains but she is only listed as Mrs. Dudley V Baker, so there is no clue to who she was. Dudley was said to have been buried in "general cemetery in Siguatepeque, Honduras." Since I am unfamiliar with Honduras I do not even know where to begin to try and follow this lead. An uncle, Rufus Baker was also said to have been in Honduras for a time.

Try visiting this site
http://www.comayagua.com/
Email them

Contact city hall (alcaldia) and see if there is a record of a marriage or any kind or document (land records?)

That may have more info.

Do you have an actual copy of the death cert.?

If you have a contact in Honduras that would help.

Try contacting someone at that Evangelical church.
I found this @ 773-3319,773-0349 in my phone book.
I don't know if it's the same church. You can try.

Maybe do a internet search for the phone # and call.

You won't get much of a response if you write. Thing are
run very different there from the here in the States.

I would say you fly over there.
You need to either fly to the San Pedro Sula airport or Tegucigalpa airport. Then you need to go to Siguatepeque, probably find a hotel there, and go to the Capilla Evangelica in Siguatepeque, Honduras. You might need to have someone help you with the language or if you speak Spanish then that would be no problem. There is only one "Cementerio General de Siguatepeque" there. It is located at or near the main entrance to Siguatepeque.
Here is a web site that has two hotels. It's in Spanish though, but I'm pretty sure someone might speak English there because there are several expatriates from the US living there.

Also, try to contact the US Embasy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and they might help you with giving you some information.

Even though there is information online saying that it is better not to go to Honduras, it is not completely true. You can still travel there and be able to do what you need to do, as long as you do most everything during the day time and accompanied by other people you trust. The more casual you dress, the better. You will find that some people are very helpful.
