Can any one please tell me how to go about looking up a birth record on Antigua in 1859.

Looking for Margaret Jane Scott.

Any help greatly appreciated.

There is an office in Downtown Saint John, Antigua, where they keep record or all people born in Antigue, i think this records started in 1850.

Thanks. They used to have a website, but it is not longer working. There is gentleman, named Richard Cheddie, he has been so nice helping me with information, may be you can ccontact him.

I am interested as to whether you found how to access birth records in antiguia. My ancestor CHARLES BLAKE may have been born here according to a ships log.

Sorry, I have never had a reply from the other person as to how to get hold of the chap that knew how.
One day, who knows, I might have enough cash to take a holiday there and I can find out how myself.

Are you a decendant of Margaret Jane Scott ? If so we are related . Margaret Jane was born in Antigua at Cedar valley Estate on 03rd. Nov 1858 and on the death of her father John Scott on 30 March 1870 returned to UK with her mother and some of her siblings and married Ernest Alfred Gray . Margaret's sister Isabella married John Sutherland who came out from Edinburgh to Antigua and they were my great grandparents .I still live in Antigua .

I am not related to Margaret Sccott, but i know some of their relatives that came to Dominica Republic. They went to work for a Suggar Mill, in a place called Barahona, i know a John Sccot, who was a friend of mine. Any way thanks for your interest in answering my message and help me with my relatives search.
