He married Jerusha and lived at Clarendon Rutland Vermont, including 1776 to July 1781 (State Papers of Vermont, vol. 6, 1941) Jerusha b ca 1713 d Clarendon Vt. 13 Apr 1784 age 71 (Clarendon Land Records, book 2, pg 60. Of his children, two, Daniel and Solomon came to Elizabethtown from Vermont

Your welcome reply answers several questions. Solomon Johns was my 5th great grandfather, lt. King's Rangers, setttled Elizabethtown 1784. I descend from his eldest son David. Benjamin's 1st wife Mary Allis died after Solomon's birth 1751 in CT. Daniel born CT 1738/39. They moved to Amenia NY 1752, later to Vermont. Benjamin and sons were land speculators. Where/when did Benjamin marry Jerusha (Unknown)? Did Daniel stay in Canada? His daughter Jerusha (likely named for his stepmother) married Jonathan Mills Church in 1784 in Elizabethtown.

I believe the "Mills" part of Jonathan Mills comes from his mothers side Elizabeth Mills who married Malachi Church. Malachi died in Aylmer, Quebec, Canada but I can't find where and when Elizabeth died. Malachi's son Jonathan moved to Grenville Leeds and married Jerusha John's. My husband's side is descended from Malachi.
