Looking for info on Mary Speed, born 1632 in Marshfield, Plymouth, Mass. A big mystery on her parents and lineage. She married John Branch in 1652, their many descendants settling Connecticut, Vermont and Upstate NY. She is my 8th GGrandmother and would like to find out more about her.

In the Powers-Banks Ancestry on page 165 there is a note that says. "said to be Mary Speed of the family of the English Historian. The historian is John Speed b. 1552 in Farrington, Cheshire co. England. He is said to have had 12 sons and 6 daughters.
I am trying to find out information on the sons, that should lead us to Mary. As for the Speeds in the south they are descendants of James Speed who settled in Virginia

You are right. Mary is a common name so you
will have to specify a date certain. Well,
perhaps a circa of birth, death, or marriage.
